The Beast

A Beast has awakened, beneath the very ground you tread upon. It feeds you thoughts, visions, and a constant trickle of madness. Can you warn the others and save them all, or will you be unable to save even yourself?

The Beast is a gothic horror interactive fiction where the player takes on the role of the last remaining heir of an aristocratic family, grieving the recent deaths of his parents and brother in a near-empty mansion already beginning to show the wear and tear of neglect and isolation. As the plague that killed his family ravages the kingdom, he seeks help in the unlikeliest of places: an ancient tome he acquired by chance in a marketplace in Baghdad.
